SportSphere began as an AFL disposals model - a side project to test whether the same edge-identification framework used in equities research could find genuine mispricings in player prop markets. The first season tracked publicly answered that question, and the methodology has been expanding to new leagues since.

Every sport runs on the same six-factor weighted model: season averages, recent-form windows, opponent strength, role and minutes, conditions, and matchup. Weights are grid-search optimised per league before anything goes live. Picks are tiered by Edge/Volatility (E/V) - the ratio of predicted edge to historical standard deviation - so a pick's tier reflects statistical conviction, not gut feel.

Built by a financial analyst who spends his days researching companies, reading balance sheets, and modelling cash flows for a living. The same analytical framework that drives investment decisions - edge identification, probability weighting, and disciplined position sizing - translates directly to player prop markets.

SportSphere is a small operation by design. One founder owns the core methodology across every sport, with collaborators contributing on individual leagues (Sam leads NBA data engineering). AFL and WNBA are live today. NFL launches with Week 1 in September 2026. NBA and NBL launch together in October 2026 - same methodology, same public tracking, same single subscription. A fantasy platform is in development for 2027.
